Founder member of Ronnie Scotts Rejects, Stephen Large still has the ability to leave the rest of the band with their jaws wide open during a band performance.
He has drawn much inspiration from other pianists such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Nat King Cole and is a huge fan of Oscar Peterson and Hammond player Jimmy Smith. His classical additives and random musical silliness is reminiscent of heroes like Dudley Moore and Les Dawson.
Stephen has been busy with a number of other bands over the past few years alongside playing with Ronnie Scotts Rejects. He has been musical director for Caro Emerald, Rebecca Ferguson and Duffy as well as having been MD/keyboard player for Paul Heaton, Imelda May, Clare Teal, Martha Reeves, Paloma Faith, Rumer, Quantic Soul Orchestra, Noisettes, Pete Doherty, Pee Wee Ellis and Rod Stewart.
He has also taken over Jools Hollands role as keyboard player in the band Squeeze.
